About the Event
Invest in yourself !
Hello Everyone,
Have you ever been in a situation where you questioned your worth? Like, feeling lost, ignored or just vaguely frustrated (or disappointed) at how life is evolving for you?
Our sense of self is what gives us identity, pride and mission in life. How we view ourselves is a function of several factors, such as our early life experiences, our social interactions, the friendships and binds we are able to form with other people and access to avenues for self-actualization, such as education, getting an occupation and entry into social groups. Persons with disability often struggle with this sense of self, and women with disabilities particularly stand at an intersection of multiple vulnerabilities which impacts their self-esteem adversely. This low self-esteem often becomes a barrier for them in seeking out opportunities of growth and leading a fully meaningful life.
Prajaahita Foundation is organizing a webinar on the topic "Locating the self within the lived experience of disability" for Women with Disabilities and caretakers as part of the Saukhyam Project.Â
